José Antonio Gil de la Vega was presented with his EuroHockey Diploma of Merit by EuroHockey President Marcos Hofmann at La Gala del Hockey Español last weekend.
It follows an incredible career as one of the key figures in Spanish hockey’s development over the past 40 years.
“Gilo” has been linked with the RFEH since 1985, holding key positions such as coach, general secretary, and sporting director, contributing to some of the greatest international successes in Spanish hockey.
In addition, he has been a frequent and important contributor to EuroHockey committees, most recently as part of the competitions committee.
He was also honoured on the night by the Spanish federation with a Gold and Diamond Badgefor his legacy which has been instrumental in the growth of hockey in the country.
