Four European sides have advanced to the final eight of the women’s FIH Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile following the conclusion of the group stages on Saturday evening.
The Netherlands will play England in Monday’s knock-out phase as the former eased through Pool A with three wins and a goal difference of plus 31.
For England, they were one of the two best runners-up in the pool phase as they earned wins over South Africa and Austria and a draw with China.
Belgium, meanwhile, advance from Pool B with seven points, their two large wins over Zimbabwe and Wales seeing them edge ahead of Argentina on goal difference. They will face USA in their quarter-final.
Argentina did progress, too, and they will be up against Germany who topped Pool C with confident wins over India, Ireland and Namibia.
The other quarter-final will feature Australia against China.
For the other European sides, Spain will meet Ireland in the ninth to 16th places playoffs while Wales face India. Scotland are in the 17th to 24th place matches where they will play Namibia along with Austria who are up against New Zealand.
