Competitions Committee Outdoor meets in Brussels

Last weekend, the EuroHockey Competitions Committee Outdoor met in Brussels, Belgium, for its first meeting of the year and also the first meeting of the new 2-year cycle.

As this is a new committee with some new members, they got to know each other and introduced themselves as the start of a fruitful meeting.

The Committee received updates on the Euro Hockey League, EuroHockey club events 2026, EuroHockey 5s U16 Championships 2026, EuroHockey 5s Senior Championships 2026, EuroHockey Championships Qualifiers 2026 and EuroHockey U21 Championships 2026. It was recognised that there are many events again and all hosts were thanked in advance for their determination to host great events.

The Committee considered the entries and applications to host the 2027 EuroHockey U18 Championships. Recommendations for the awarding of these U18 Championships have been made to the EuroHockey executive board, which meets this coming week. These will be announced in due course after the board has approved them.

They also received updates on FIH events and discussed some regulations questions. Some proposals were brought to the executive board. Once approved changes will be published in due course in the various sets of Regulations and Event Manuals and on the website/portal.

The next committee meeting will be in September 2026.
