Participants will live and work abroad at a host club that is fully prepared to support visiting coaches. - What
As part of the Erasmus ICE Pilot Project, selected coaches will complete a one month international exchange placement focused on youth hockey development.
Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and delivering a practical technical project tailored to the host club (e.g. youth development framework, coaching manual, or training programme)
• Leading youth-focused training sessions
• Mentoring and supporting local coaches
• Contributing to the development and sustainability of the club’s youth structure
• Acting as an ambassador for your home nation and club, helping to strengthen international hockey connections
Participants will receive:
• Dual mentorship from a local club mentor and a federation/club mentor
• A pre-departure workshop covering intercultural communication and youth development
• A practical project toolkit to support planning and delivery
• Room and board provided for the duration of the placement

• Pilot placement period: October 2025 – May 2026
• Individual placement length: 1 month
This pilot is the first phase of a programme with a long-term vision to expand into 4–6-month exchanges across multiple European countries. Pilot participants will receive priority access to the extended programme, potentially in a different host nation. - Application Date

The Erasmus ICE Pilot Project is supported by EuroHockey, KNHB, and England Hockey, with a shared ambition to grow grassroots hockey and create meaningful development pathways for the next generation of coaches across Europe.
