| Dutch take Gold in Valencia |

In the final day at the EuroHockey Championships, Valencia; the Dutch team took gold beating Belgium 9-0 Italy-Russia (0-0 + golden goal Italy) Italy, who had come to the Eurohockey Championship with little chance of getting a good classification, after the victory against Czech Republic, has faced Russia. With this victory, the Italian girls have got the fifth position, the best classification obtained so far by the Italian team at this kind of Championship. The match has been defined by a constant intensity of the players. Both teams were playing (due to the results of Czech Republic and Poland) for the fifth and eighth position. With these results, Russia finish as the eighth team of the Championship, hence it goes down to the Eurohockey II. The match has finished 0-0 and at the minute 3 of the extra time Italy has scored the golden goal and got the fifth position.
Ireland-Spain (1-2) The game has really hard tensión all the time, cause Spain, after the lost game against Belgium, only had this chance to be in the pódium like in the last four editions of Eurohockey. From the first minute Spain has been attacking and in minute ten with the first short corner of the game Cristina Escudé scored the first goal of the game. With the 0-1 finished the firs half. During the second half, the red team kept pressing, but Ireland has shown a really solid defense until minute 42, when Cristina Escudé has scored again. Five minutes after the Spanish goal, Sara Quill scored the 1-2. Then Ireland started pressing and created a lot of chances to score, but they arrived til the end of the game without moving the scoreboard. With this result, Ireland finishes in fourth place and Spain get the bronze medal. Final, Netherlands - Belgium (9-0) Easy victory for Holland, like in the previous games. From the first minutes, Holland started to show his high hockey level, and has dominated absolutely the game. Holland, the favourite before the tournament started, get the gold medal another time. Belgium has done a great game, fighting until the end and getting the silver medal. The closing ceremony, had the representation of the Sports Town Councillor Mr.Cristobal Grau, the EHF Vice-President Mr.Jorge Alcover, the RFEH president Mr. Santiago Deo and the FHCV president Mr. Jesus Gracia.
