Day 2 in Zagreb - EuroHockey Youth Championship ll (U16 Boys) PDF Print E-mail
Written by ehfnews

Zagreb_Day2The morning sun showed mercy, and even allow the breeze to also attend today's day and greet the team of Bulgaria and Italy, and facilitate fans cheering for their favorites. Unlike yesterday's match, the Bulgarians were much bolder and had more decisive access today. In the opening of the game they even pressed their opponents and have created some chances that were wasted. On the different side of the pitch Italians were also active but unlike the Bulgarians, they were productive. Goal from penalty corner gave the team from the Apennines a lead, and before halftime they’ve scored once more.

In the second half Italians needed only five minutes to add another goal to their account. Stefan Chavdar’s team managed to reduce the scoreline to 1:3 twenty minutes before the end of the game, but six minutes later they’ve conceded another one. Italians have taken a win today and it was a deserved one. Final result Bulgaria vs Italy 1:4. Congratulations to both of the teams for a good game they have played!

At noon the breeze disappeared and the sun has decided to be the opponent of both teams, Slovenia and Croatia. It was a clash between the neighbours , the two teams that know each other very well. Without secrets all cards were on the table. In the beginning Croats were little too slow, like they weren’t interested in playing this match and that almost costed them today. On the other hand Slovenians had shown lethal touch in front of the opposition’s goalkeeper by scoring two fast goals in three minutes. Host’s needed some time to recover, and to strike back. They scored in the same fashion as the Slovenians have. Two fast goals in three minutes again. In the end of first half lack of concentration from Croats had given Vitomir Fujs’s team another lead. So the result on the soreboard was Slovenia – Croatia 3:2.

At the beginning of the second half Croatia started much better, while their opponents shown the same problem like yesterday. Until the end of the game they didn’t score any more goals, but have conceded eight more. Finals result Slovenia – Croatia 3:10. This score had given the host’s lead in front of the Czech Republic before tomorrow’s game, and even a draw would give them a place in the final on Sunday.

Soaken wet and dry roasted we are looking forward to tomorrow's matches. Traditionally we'll start at 10:00 when Italy will play against Poland, and after them Croatia versus Czech Republic.

See ya tomorrow!!!
