HOCKEY IN DENMARK

The Danish Hockey Federation (Dansk Hockey Union, DHU) was founded in 1908 by 7 clubs. From these 7 clubs 2 still exist: Copenhagen and Orient. In 1911 DHU became member of the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark.

In 1920 Denmark won a silver medal at the Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium. Denmark participated 2 times more in the Olympics 1928 and 1960.

Today (2012) the number of clubs and members are almost the same as in the beginning. Denmark have 10 clubs and about 700 active hockey players.
